- Put all of the ingredients in a pot.
- Add 500ml/18fl oz of freshly boiled filtered water.
- Leave to steep for 5–10 minutes, then strain.
Peppermint leaf This aromatic leaf prevents spasms and pain in the digestive tract. Its menthol is also wonderfully cooling to any excess acid in the stomach. It has a spreading and opening function that helps to ease any post-meal bloating.
Licorice root A great herb for moderating digestive irritation as it is soothing and relaxing. Specifically used for sweetening excess acidity in the digestive system.
Hibiscus flower The beautiful hibiscus is mildly sweet and sour and helps to support the digestive process after a rich meal.
Fennel seed Great for settling an unhappy digestive system, fennel seed’s essential oils are powerfully antispasmodic, helping to calm digestion and assist in the body’s absorption of nutrients. In Ayurveda, fennel seed balances all three constitutional types.
Coriander seed This seed is especially good for strong digestion, but doesn’t over-stimulate the system.
